Critique This taxon was named by Czerkas and Yuan (2002) as a monotypic family-level taxon redundant with the enigmatic maniraptoriform Scansioripteryx heilmanni. A similar dinosaur, Epidendrosaurus ninchengensis, may belong in this group, but it is possible that the two are conspecific. Hence, this taxon is considered invalid pending more detailed studies of both taxa.
