Critique Salagado (2003:20)  proposed a newfamily group taxon based on Andesaurus delgadoi, which joins the previously named Andesauridae and Andesaurinae.  Although clearly a basal titanosaurian, Andesaurus delgadoi isknown so far only from a fragmentary skeleton.  Its relationship to other poorly known forms, such as Argentinosaurus, has not been supported by cladistic data.   For this last reason, Andesauroidea (like Andesauridae and Andesaurinae) is regarded as inactive for the time being.
